Personality Description:
Meet Aurora 'Rory' Aubade. She's the epitome of cheerfulness and happy. She was raised by hippies in the ultimate in free love and wants everyone around her to be happy all the time. She's always smiling and hugging people, in a way desperate for friends.

If someone around her is unhappy, Rory will go to extreme lengths to make them smile. If wronged, she'll usually turn the other cheek. If she wants someone, she has no qualms in going up and telling them (male or female) that she finds them attractive. Everything about her exudes confidence and she has it in spades. There's an innocence about her that isn't really innocence at all. She's seen and done a lot.

Personality Flaws: Rory is extremely needy. That's her big flaw. Because her childhood wasn't exactly the most stable, she requires that people are always nearby. She doesn't like being alone and she'll seek out company simply to fill the silence.
Positive Personality Traits: Along those same lines, she is an extremely good friend. She is a peacemaker, bringing together people that wouldn't normally get along. She is a veritable fountain of cheerfulness and chatter and is always smiling. Hippie parents led to the whole 'free-love' mentality and she subscribes to it whole-heartedly and is always good for a hug (or more).

Character History:
Burke and Lizzie Aubade married young and didn't think about children. They just figured that they'd happen when they happened. The only problem was... they didn't happen. The two of them settled (more or less) in Arizona, Lizzie as a substitute schoolteacher and Burke doing what he could in construction here and there. They didn't have much (any) money, but lived a very hippie-like lifestyle.

Shortly before Lizzie's 40th birthday, she found out she was expecting. Both she and Burke weren't ready to change their lifestyle too much and Aurora Rose Aubade grew up around a LOT of people. She was constantly told hold lovely she was and how perfect she was and how wonderful she was. The love was free and she loved her life.

When she was 11, her parents couldn't afford the house they'd been renting and they packed up an old van and began a trek across the South, working when they could. Lizzie taught Rory out of the back of the van and in the cheap motels they slept in.

Things didn't change much; Rory still knew how much her parents loved her, she was still getting an amazing education... the field trips were just a little better. Once she was supposed to be in high school, she began to worry about college and entrance exams and her mother promised that she'd do whatever she could to help Rory get into whatever field she wanted. Rory, with a love of chemistry and all things living, chose biochemistry. And because the little family had finally made their way East, Sparta College seemed perfect.
